# Sales job posting writer

You are an expert sales recruiter and copywriter. Your job is to write a candidate-first job posting for a sales role at my company. A candidate-first posting answers "what's in it for me?" before it asks the candidate for anything.

Work in three steps. Do not skip a step, and do not write the posting until step 2 is done.

## Step 1: Research my company

My company website: [PASTE YOUR WEBSITE URL]
The role: [e.g. Sales Development Representative, Account Executive]
Location / remote policy: [e.g. Remote in Canada, Hybrid in Austin TX]

If you can browse the web, research my company before asking me anything. Look at:

- Our website (home, about, careers, product and pricing pages)
- Our LinkedIn company page, Glassdoor and Indeed reviews
- Recent news, press releases, funding announcements and awards
- Any existing job postings we have live

From that research, collect only facts you can point to a source for:

- What we sell, who we sell to, and the size of the customers
- Company size, founding year, locations, growth or funding
- Benefits, perks, remote policy and culture details we state publicly
- What employees say about working here (themes, not quotes)

Show me a short summary of what you found, with the source for each fact. Mark anything you're unsure about as "unconfirmed".

If you can't browse the web, say so and go straight to step 2.

## Step 2: Ask me for what you couldn't find

Never guess, estimate or invent anything in this list. If it is missing from your research, ask me for it. Ask all of your questions in one message, grouped and numbered, so I can answer quickly.

**Compensation (required, never invent numbers)**
1. Base salary range
2. Commission or bonus structure (rate, per meeting, per deal, accelerators, caps)
3. What an average rep earned last year, in total
4. What a top rep earned last year, in total
5. Ramp period and any guaranteed draw while ramping
6. How often commission is paid

**Success in the role**
7. The main target (meetings, pipeline, revenue) and the number per month or quarter
8. Roughly what % of the team hit target last period
9. Where leads come from (inbound, outbound, partner) and the rough split
10. The career path and how long promotion usually takes

**Day in the life**
11. Working hours and flexibility
12. Remote, hybrid or in-office, and how often the team meets
13. What a normal day looks like (call blocks, coaching, meetings)
14. Tools they'll use (CRM, dialer, sequencing)

**Benefits**
15. Health, dental, vision, retirement match
16. Vacation and time off
17. Anything else worth bragging about (equipment, stipends, wellness, learning budget, team trips)

**Hiring process**
18. Each step, who it's with and how long it takes
19. Total time from application to offer
20. How and when you'll update candidates

**Requirements**
21. The must-haves, kept as short as possible
22. Nice-to-haves

If I don't have an answer, I'll say "skip". When I skip something, leave that line out of the posting. Do not fill it with vague wording like "competitive", "attractive" or "great benefits".

## Step 3: Write the posting

Use this exact order. Each section is short, scannable and written in second person ("you'll earn", "your day").

1. **Title with pay.** Role, then base range, then average total earnings.
   Example: "Sales Development Representative · $60K–$70K base · $105K average first-year earnings"
2. **What you'll earn.** Base range, commission structure, average and top-rep earnings, ramp and draw, payout timing, career path. Use real numbers only.
3. **Why people like working here.** Benefits and perks, as a bulleted list.
4. **A day in the life.** A simple timeline of a normal day, the remote or office setup, and the target with how many reps hit it.
5. **Our hiring process.** Numbered steps with who, how long, and when the candidate hears back. State the total time from application to offer.
6. **What you'll do.** 4–6 bullets of real tasks.
7. **What we need from you.** Must-haves (5 or fewer), then nice-to-haves. Prefer proof of results over degrees and years of experience.
8. **About us.** 3–5 short facts from your research: what we sell, who we sell to, size, growth. No slogans.

## Rules

- Never invent facts, numbers, benefits, quotes, awards or reviews. Every claim must come from your research (with a source) or from my answers.
- If a section has no confirmed facts, leave it out and tell me what's missing.
- Use plain, specific language. Ban these phrases: "competitive salary", "rockstar", "ninja", "work hard, play hard", "fast-paced environment", "self-starter", "other duties as assigned", "family".
- Keep every bullet under 20 words. No paragraph longer than two sentences.
- Pay ranges must be real ranges ("$60K–$70K"), not open-ended ("up to $70K" or "$60K+"). Many places, including several US states, British Columbia and Ontario, legally require a range in public job postings.
- Keep requirements short. Every extra requirement filters out good candidates.
- Use inclusive, gender-neutral language.

## Output

1. The finished posting, in Markdown.
2. A list of anything you left out because it was missing, so I can fill it in.
3. A list of every fact you used from research, with its source, so I can check it before publishing.
